In the last decade, ethics has been given increased attention by mixed methods researchers (MMR) from several disciplines (Cain et al., 2019; Cameron & Herrmann, 2023; Hesse-Biber, 2010; Hesse-Biber & Johnson, 2013; Hesse-Biber & Leavy, 2010; Onwuegbuzie & Corrigan, 2014; Poth, 2018; Preissle et al., 2015). The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies by MM researchers, such as machine learning and big data, is a more recent trend, owing to the increasing availability and access to large data sets from the internet in a combination of text, images, audio, and videos or multimodal data (Cameron & Herrmann, 2023; Creamer, 2020; Mills, 2019).
